THE HISTORY OF INQUISITIONS DATABASE

This database is aimed to update scholars, students, and all those interested in the history of medieval and early modern inquisitions and their modern continuations. It provides a large searchable repertoire of sources, bibliographies and iconographic materials on religious dissent and its repression across different periods and areas of the world. The database is divided into six main sections related to different inquisitorial structures and chronologies: general history, medieval inquisition, Spanish Inquisition, Portuguese Inquisition, Roman Inquisition, and 19th-20th century. Each section comprises three different typologies of materials: printed sources, scholarly literature, and images. Users can easily navigate through these resources and conduct advanced research based on the database sections, typologies of materials, and keywords.
